Four steelworkers could be in a position to make a personal injury claim after suffering burns in a work accident.
The men may consider contacting an accident compensation solicitor following the routine lancing operation in a blast furnace at Corus Steelworks in Port Talbot on the 3rd October.
A Corus spokesperson commented on the industrial accident and said, "At approximately 2.50pm, whilst commissioning Blast Furnace No.4 after a period of planned maintenance, four Corus employees were injured."
The four workers were taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea with burn injuries to the face, head and feet.
Ken Penton of the Steelworkers' Union Community, said, "We've have no confirmation of the extent of any injuries, nor the scale of the accident, nor the cause of it.
"We're trying to make sure the steelworks have become safer, but regrettably they are dangerous places, where people are working with very hot materials."
In the future, the four steelworkers may consider contacting accident compensation solicitors to make a possible injury compensation claim.
