A construction worker from Sheffield has won £8,750 in personal injury compensation following a work accident he suffered in June 2006.
The 37-year-old made the no win, no fee claim in August of the same year after personal injury solicitors advised him that he had strong evidence to support his work accident claim.
He was walking to the workface when he tripped over uncovered piping and hit his head on a metal stanchion. Though medical specialists believe the man has now recovered full cognitive function, in the few months immediately following the accident he found himself irritable, depressed and with impaired short-term memory.
The construction industry is one of the UK's most dangerous work sectors and is the source of many work accident compensation claims every year.
