London woman compensated for botched cosmetic procedure

A woman from London has been awarded a five figure sum in clinical negligence compensation following a botched cosmetic procedure.

Following a recommendation of a friend, the claimant agreed to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment which works to smooth the complexion. However, she now fears she may have been scarred for life as a result of the surgery.

The woman stated that immediately after the technician at the salon ran the hand held device over her face and chest she began to experience an excruciating burning pain.

The treatment left her with raw and painful burn injuries on her chest.

She later made a claim for clinical negligence compensation against the insurers of the salon and was awarded a five figure sum in damages.

Since winning the clinical negligence compensation, the woman is now campaigning that laws should be introduced to ensure that there is supervision of some cosmetic treatments such as IPL and Botox, to protect the public from personal injury.
