An injured woman who fell on a lose slab in Daventry is asking council officials to improve the area's maintenance before somebody is seriously hurt in an accident.
Wyn Brunt may consider contacting an accident compensation solicitor after sustaining a black eye and a hand injury in the fall on the 3rd October.
Mrs Brunt was spending the morning shopping when she fell on a loose slab between the High Street and Foundry Court and is urging Northants County Council to improve Daventry's paving.
She said, "Every pavement you see in Daventry is bad, there's not a good one in town. I came down Foundry Court because I thought it was better.
"I've got a bruise on my face, hurt both my knees and my hand and my glasses are damaged so I can't see a thing."
Mrs Brunt was lucky to escape suffering serious personal injuries and could have been making a compensation claim for a much more serious accident, possibly resulting in a back or head injury.
A council spokesperson has assured Mrs Brunt that Highway Officers will be inspecting the path to decide if it needs repairing.
Mrs Brunt could be eligible for personal injury compensation following the fall and may consider contacting an accident compensation solicitor in the future.
She said, "Fair enough, it's nice to think you might get some money for it, but the pavement should not be in this state."
