Couple die as car hits wall

A man and a woman have been killed in a car accident in Wales on Sunday evening. The crash happened when the driver of the vehicle struck a wall near the Blue Anchor pub in East Aberthaw.

The male driver and female passenger died from their injuries at the scene of the accident.

Police are investigating the cause of the car crash on the notoriously dangerous stretch of road and have yet to release the circumstances surrounding the accident.

One of the relatives of the driver killed in the accident said, "This is a very sad time for our family. Our father…was a very loving husband, father and grandfather."

The landlord of a pub close to the scene of the accident said, "We didn't hear the car braking. It seems it just smashed into the wall."

The road was closed for five hours following the accident as police recovered the vehicle and investigated the car accident scene.
