A new speed limit restriction that has been implemented on a dangerous road in Warwick could reduce the number of future no win, no fee claims made for car accident injuries.
Myton Road has become a notorious blackspot where a number of road traffic accidents have occurred over the years.
Recent car accident statistics revealed that between January 2003 and March 2006, there were a total of 16 car crashes with 18 people suffering from serious personal injuries.
New plans to reduce the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph have been welcomed by the public who believe that future no win, no fee accident claim rates could be reduced.
A spokesperson for the council said, "The majority of accidents involved either a turning manoeuvre being carried out or a rear shunt type accident.
"Although speeding was not the primary factor in these accidents, quite often these types of accidents are generated by drivers not paying attention – however if a low speed had been involved, these accidents may not have resulted in injuries.
"The proposals have generated support and are expected to be effective in reducing vehicle speeds and therefore reducing casualties."
The road which is located near three schools may now see a reduction in the number of car accidents that take place, therefore reducing the risk for injured motorists needing to contact personal injury solicitors to make no win, no fee claims.
