A Scottish accident has seen a pensioner airlifted to hospital after he was crushed by a truck.
Although police were called to the scene, farm workers had rescued the man from under the vehicle before they arrived. The man had suffered personal injury to his chest, necessitating his being airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary immediately. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The police stated that this would be treated as an industrial accident. A spokesman went on to say, "At around 11.10am an ambulance attended at a business premises, located on an unclassified road north west of Auchnagatt near to the A948, following a report of a man trapped under a trailer."
It was announced that investigations into this Scottish accident will be handled by the Health and Safety Executive, but no comment was made regarding the man's plans to make a compensation claim.
