The family of a 47-year-old man from Tangmere, in West Sussex, who died following a crash in West Wittering, must wait until investigations are concluded to know if a road traffic accident claim can be made for his loss.
The man was killed when his motorbike struck a tree, close to the junction of Rookwood Road and Chapel Lane.
Emergency services were made aware of the incident, but the victim was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
Sussex Police is asking for any witnesses of the crash, who may have important information regarding the events leading up to the accident, to contact it.
It has not been reported whether another vehicle is believed to have been involved, and determining this will be important in discovering who, if anyone, is responsible for the biker's death.
The casualty's family may wish to make a road traffic accident claim for their loss if it is revealed that another driver's negligence behind the wheel, or any other person, caused the man's fatal personal injury to occur.
