Footballer in car accident could make claim

Yet another footballer has been hurt in a car accident. However, this time the Torquay United midfielder appears to have been an innocent party who may now be able to make a claim for whiplash compensation.

Nicky Wroe was involved in a rear-end-shunt accident last week and his whiplash injury prevented him from playing at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday. He is now reported as being unsure of his fitness for next Saturday's match as well.

The 24-year-old was with his partner and her parents when the whiplash car accident occurred.

He said, "I was driving, and stationary at some traffic lights, when someone crashed into the back of me.

"Everyone was shaken up, but luckily we're all OK.

"I had a few aches and pains, and a stiff neck, for a couple of days.

"But I thought it was worth meeting up with the rest of the lads, and seeing if I could play at Shrewsbury."

It is so far unreported as to whether or not the League Two footballer will be making a whiplash compensation claim.
