An elderly Australian man has employed personal injury solicitors to help him make a compensation claim after he was allegedly hurt whilst playing roulette.
The 84-year-old contacted the compensation lawyers with a view to helping him win damages as the result of a trip to an Adelaide casino that left him suffering from back, neck and head injuries
His accident claim tells how he went to the casino in April 2005 and had a meal before sitting down at a vacant spot at a roulette table. For the next hour he played numerous hands and was continually getting up and then sitting down again as he became more and more involved in the action.
According to his compensation claim, the elderly gentleman stood up to place a bet and, unbeknown to him, a member of staff removed his chair from behind him. As a result, when he went to sit down, he crashed to the floor, suffering extensive personal injuries.
These injuries are said to have severely affected his quality of life and his personal injury solicitors are holding the casino responsible, accusing them of breaching their duty of care.
Casino bosses have been given a month to respond to the pensioner's accident claim.
