The personal injury solicitors of a Brighton man left seriously injured after being hit by a teenage joy rider while crossing a road are awaiting judgement on the man's personal injury compensation claim.
In February of 2003, the 44-year-old was crossing the road when a 19-year-old man, who was being pursued by police as he drove a stolen Vauxhall Cavalier, crashed into him, breaking practically every bone in his body and leaving him with severe brain damage.
His personal injury solicitors have already persuaded the relevant insurers of the Vauxhall to accept primary liability for the road traffic accident compensation claim. However, the insurers are still in dispute with the man's personal injury solicitors over whether the 44-year-old is, in part, responsible himself.
The ruling of Justice Eady, who will be responsible for the decision at London's High Court, is eagerly anticipated by both the man and his personal injury solicitors.
Some commentators have predicted that the man's personal injury compensation claim award could be worth several million pounds.
