BB contestants evacuated as house floods

Personal injury was narrowly averted by television's Big Brother housemates after they realised that the Big Brother house flooded.

The nine contestants left in the TV show were lying in bed when they discovered the bedroom roof was leaking.

To avoid slip and trip accidents and other dangers, the housemates had to be temporarily evacuated to a hotel after heavy rain flooded part of the show's compound in Hertfordshire.

The living room, bedroom and the diary room remain out of bounds until the floods have subsided.

A statement on the Big Brother website said, "The BB team are working as quickly as possible to get them [the contestants] back into the house."

They added that engineers had been checking the cables in the house to ensure that everything is "safe" for the housemates' return.

None of the contestants suffered any personal injury during the flooding.
