Personal injury lawyers representing a man who suffered injury in one of Scotland's worst ever industrial accidents have successfully negotiated their client an out-of-court work injury compensation settlement.
The claimant was one of the survivors from 2004's Maryhill ICL Tech explosion, an industrial disaster which killed nine people and injured a further 33.
His personal injury lawyer told press, "Our client was incredibly resilient despite the severity of his injuries. His claim was realistic, and he was compensated for his personal injury, including necessary modifications to his home, and services to enable him to receive the appropriate on-going care."
"ICL admitted liability for this claim, and while the claimant received full pay from his employer (ICL) throughout, he was awarded based on his open and honest account of what he needed and why, as a result of the devastating accident in which he almost lost his life."
The exact sum of work injury compensation secured by the personal injury lawyer remains undisclosed.
