A 55-year-old Scottish woman who suffered a dislocated knee when an unleashed dog bounded into her, knocking her over, has lost her claim for personal injury compensation after a judge ruled the incident to be a "pure accident".
The unsuccessful claimant had hoped to claim up to £160,000 in personal injury compensation for the animal accident, with her personal injury solicitor arguing that the 34-year-old owner of the unleashed dog had been negligent in allowing it to run free.
Scottish newspapers report that the failed personal injury compensation claimant has had to retire from her job as a college lecturer in Dundee since the 2005 accident.
