Bexley council has paid out more than £45,000 in personal injury compensation claims over the past three years.
The largest accident compensation pay-out between 2007-2998 was £9,055 after a member of the public fell in a car park.
Between 2009-2010 140 claims were made against Bexley council costing £1,150. The year before 227 claims were made at a cost of £8,450 and the year before that (2007-2008) they reached 246, costing £35,738.
Matthew Elliott, Chief Executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance said: "The council must work harder to reduce this bill."
The council is being urged to revise its current risk management strategies to help reduce its risk of exposure to claims.
A spokesperson for the council said: "The London Borough of Bexley, like many other public bodies, delivers a wide range of services which makes it a target for litigation."
Although the total amount of claims for the last three years is high, there has been a steady decrease in the number of personal injury claims being made year on year.
