Boy suffers burns following drive thru injury

A 17-year-old boy suffered a serious personal injury after a seemingly innocuous trip to a nearby McDonalds drive-thru.

The Telford teenager was with his girlfriend in Newtown, Powys, last Friday (26th February) when the lid came off a cup of tea he had bought from the fast-food chain and hot tea spilt down his leg, leaving him with horrific burns.

The injured Shropshire boy is now considering seeking the advice of a personal injury lawyer after his injuries have left him unable to work, drive or shower easily.

Following the incident, the teenager required urgent hospital treatment at Welshpool Hospital and is now facing the prospect of scarring down the affected leg.

Speaking of the incident, the youth said, "It's so dangerous, it could have been a baby or a young child that was burnt, and that would have been so much worse."

Relatives of the boy are adamant that they will sue the fast food giant for the personal injury that he suffered.
