A man from Hampshire has launched an accident injury compensation claim for £50,000 after suffering serious personal injuries when he tripped on unstable paving.
The 43-year-old had contacted the council on several occasions prior to the accident notifying them of the poor condition of the pavement near his home in Basingstoke.
However, the man is now launching a claim against the council after he tripped while taking his dog for a walk and suffered a serious ankle injury in the fall. His foot later became infected and surgeons were forced to amputate three of the toes and a large section of his right foot.
Due to the severity of his injuries the claimant has to attend a foot clinic every three weeks and has become reliant on friends and family for assistance. He has also struggled to continue working as a painter and decorator as a result of his personal injury.
It has not yet been reported whether or not the £50,000 accident injury compensation claim against Hampshire County Council has been successful.
