No win, no fee compensation has been awarded to an engineer who suffered tendon damage to his leg in an accident at work in which he was stabbed by a piece of machinery.
The worker from Cambridgeshire received £5,250 no win, no fee compensation, including a component for loss of earnings, after being forced to take three months off work.
Unfortunately for the keen amateur marathon runner and duathlete, his injuries left him unable to exercise for a month and he has now had to give up competitive sport altogether.
As well as suffering tendon damage, he was left with soft tissue damage and now has a sizeable scar.
The solicitor who represented the man's no win, no fee compensation claim commented, "Our client was left with a scar due to a workplace accident which wasn't his fault. [The claimant's employer] should have ensured that its machines were well maintained and inspected to avoid this type of accident."
