A 42-year-old Scottish man has been awarded more than £3 million in motorcycle accident compensation after a 2002 collision with another vehicle left him only able to move his neck and thumb.
However, due to the considerable efforts of the motorcycle accident compensation claimant's family as well as those of rehabilitative staff, the former scaffolder has made such progress over the past 18 months that he is now able to feed himself, push his wheelchair independently and even walk a few paces.
Despite these improvements, the claimant will still need 24 hour care for the rest of his life, and is now preparing to move into a specially converted bungalow with his specialist carers.
The cost of this future care was a significant factor in the judge's decision to award the multi-million-pound payout of motorcycle accident compensation.
After the claimant's personal injury solicitor had successfully argued his motorbike injury claim, the judge hearing the case commented, "This is a case that illustrates the triumph of the human spirit over adversity."
