A mother is considering consulting personal injury solicitors after her son was injured twice by the same pothole.
Last year the seven-year-old suffered minor head injuries when he tripped over a hole in the pavement near his Nottinghamshire home, prompting his mum to make a complaint to the local council.
But a year on, the same hole still appears to be there and the youngster tripped over it once more whilst playing with pals. This time he split his mouth open, requiring 14 stitches, and doctors have warned that surgery could be needed to fully repair the damage.
Angry and upset that her son was hurt twice by the same piece of damaged pavement, the 32-year-old mother has revealed how she is considering making a personal injury compensation claim and said, "I complained about it last year. All they [the council] said at the time was that someone would come out and look at it. But no one ever did that and now it's happened again.
"They just don't seem interested. When I rang them up to tell them what had happened they just wanted to fob me off."
Hearing that the boy had been hurt and that an accident claim for personal injury compensation was likely, a local newspaper contacted the council and the hole was immediately filled in.
A council spokesman refused to comment on the issue.
