In 2003, the owner of an IT consultancy company underwent a partial facelift, for which she is now claiming medical negligence compensation.
The surgery, undergone in August 2003, was not successful and resulted in nerve damage around her right eye and cheek.
The victim's complaint is that she now suffers "uncontrollable facial movement, pain around the right eye and grimacing," which she suspects is likely to continue for the rest of her life.
As well as this, reports state that subsequent to the operation, her confidence was knocked to such an extent that she stepped down as the director of her business after feeling unable to meet customers face-to-face.
In December 2010, the woman received a £15,000 settlement after it was discovered that her surgeon had not checked her wounds for infection post-operation. Now, she wishes to claim more than £50 million for her pain, suffering and loss of earnings, which she says have amounted to around £600,000 a year since her firm had been doing well prior to her ending her career.
The surgery victim adds that in 2009, her business, which she ran with her husband, was taken over after experiencing difficulties on her departure.
Her medical negligence case was due to continue at the High Court for two weeks.
