A factory worker has been rushed to hospital with a serious leg injury after becoming pinned under a forklift truck.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, sustained serious personal injuries in the work accident on Tuesday after becoming trapped under a forklift truck at Denso Marston radiator makers in Otley Road, Baildon.
Factory workers dialled 999 and an ambulance and firefghters attended the scene of the industrial accident shortly after 6.30am.
The forklift had to be raised three inches off the ground before the man could be taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary Hospital to be treated for his industrial injuries.
Shipley watch manager, Andy Clayton, said, "We had to work quickly. It was important that we kept him talking and calm. Under the particularly nasty circumstances he did very well."
A spokesman for Denso Marston added, "Our priorities at the time are to ensure that our employee's immediate needs are taken care of. This is obviously an upsetting time for all, even those not directly involved. "
An investigation into the work accident is being carried out by the Health and Safety Executive to determine the cause of the accident which inflicted the man's workplace injuries.
