Isle of Wight sailing club accident

A woman from Northamptonshire is hoping to secure accident compensation after making a holiday injury claim for an incident that occurred at a yacht club on the Isle of Wight.

The no win, no fee solicitor representing the woman submitted a holiday injury claim writ to the High Court detailing her reasons for the claim.

It also said: "The claimant relies on the open admission of full liability (with no allegations of contributory negligence) as contained in the defendant's solicitors' letter of August 20, 2007."

According to the writ, the 58-year-old woman suffered a brain injury during the 2006 accident and now suffers from serious depression for which she needs to take regular medication.

The holiday injury claim writ also details the woman's reduced quality of life since the sailing club accident and provides details of the extensive difficulty she now experiences in trying to carry out tasks requiring basic cognitive skills, such as mathematical problems and literacy work.
