Holiday injury compensation has been awarded to a Coventry woman who sustained back and neck injuries as a result of a Malaysian bus accident.
The incident occurred in 2002 when the woman, an accountant, and her husband were holidaying in Asia. They had been hoping the bus would take them to the next leg of their holiday in Singapore when the bus collided with another vehicle. The claimant was one of 12 tourists to suffer bus accident injuries in the incident.
Appearing before the High Court in London, the woman's no win, no fee lawyer described how the accident has gone on to have debilitating effects on his client's health; she now suffers from chronic and persistent pain in her back and legs and, as a result, finds it very difficult to sleep.
Expert medical witnesses also appeared before the court, confirming that the claimant is now unfit to engage in part-time work.
The bus accident claim was settled for a total of £90,000 passenger injury compensation.
