A 52-year-old man suffered serious head injury after being involved in a road traffic accident with a van.
The crash, which occurred in Stretford, Manchester, in Ashburton Road West, caused several roads to be closed and delays on the M60 over Barton Bridge.
Police are asking witnesses of the incident, particularly the driver of a large white van believed to have been on the road nearby at the time of the traffic accident, to come forward with any information.
The victim of the crash was on his bicycle when he was in collision with the van. He was taken to hospital and was believed to be stable, though in a critical condition.
If after police investigation the van driver is found liable for the cyclist's head injury, then the bike rider may decide to claim personal injury compensation for his pain, suffering and loss of earnings.
