Work injury hospitalises Gaelic footballer

A Gaelic football player is likely to miss his upcoming match after suffering a work injury in his other job as a carpenter.

According to reports in the Leinster Express, the workplace accident occurred when the player fell through a skylight while working on a roof. He incurred serious concussion and facial fractures, and is not due to be released from hospital for several days.

This leaves the manager of his team, Laois, with serious problems regarding team selection, as two other the main players are also facing injury at present. Their upcoming match against Wicklow is to be played on the 31st March.

It is thought the workplace accident victim is set to make a full recovery from his work injury. No comment has been made regarding his eligibility to make a personal injury compensation claim.
