A 55-year-old grandmother from Newcastle, Tyneside, has been awarded £3.7million in a compensation claim for brain damage she suffered after being hit by a police car while using a pedestrian crossing.
The brain damage the woman suffered has left her needing round-the-clock care from family and medical professionals. This was an obvious factor in the size of her brain damage compensation claim payout.
The police officer who hit her at the pedestrian crossing, causing the brain damage, was handed a six month suspended sentence and dismissed from the Northumbria Police.
The woman's husband is said to be relieved and delighted at the resolution of the brain damage compensation claim.
