The myth of a ‘compensation claim culture' has been blown out of the water by a recent study revealing that workplace personal injury claims have actually been falling.
The revelation was made when the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) asked the University of Warwick's School of Law to look into the effects of safety at work regulations implemented at the turn of the millennium.
The results were not what was expected and showed that personal injury compensation claims made following accidents at work actually halved between 1999 and 2003.
This completely disproves the much-touted tabloid image of Great Britain being under the grip of a ‘compensation claim culture', in which people turn to personal injury solicitors for the smallest reason and attempt to blame others for any injury they sustain.
