A Wiltshire man who suffered serious brain injuries in a car accident has won a seven-figure sum in personal injury compensation.
The 27-year-old was awarded the damages in an out of court settlement but the exact amount of injury compensation has not been revealed by his personal injury solicitor .
His compensation claim was made after he was involved in a road accident whilst travelling to Wales as a back seat passenger to take part in a Tai Kwando competition several years ago.
The car crash left him with cognitive dysfunction, controlled epilepsy and severe fatigue that makes working full-time impossible. He was also forced to give up a computing degree course at Bristol University.
Shortly after securing the accident compensation, the Wiltshire man's personal injury solicitor told members of the media, "We were delighted to be able to help secure sufficient financial compensation to enable him to get his life back on track despite his terrible injuries.
"The damages awarded mainly take into account the fact that as a result of the accident, he suffered a substantial loss in what he would have earned during his lifetime."
It is believed that a proportion of the car accident compensation will be used to employ an occupational therapist, a case worker and a support worker to aid the 27-year-old's recovery and make his future more comfortable.
