A 21-year-old woman has claimed to be the latest victim of a car crash compensation scam in Preston.
The customer service assistant collided with the back of a car after the driver slammed on their brakes in front of her.
The incident happened just hours before a car matching the same description stopped abruptly in front of another woman, witnessed by other motorists and nearby traders.
Later that day, another female driver was left with a repair bill for her car after a blue Volkswagon Golf slammed on the brakes in front of her in Ashton.
Despite swerving to avoid the car, the female driver could not stop and hit the car in front causing damage to the right side of her car. After giving the driver her insurance details, the other driver quickly fled the scene.
A few days later the driver received a letter from the Golf owner’s car insurance company notifying her that they were making a compensation claim against her.
Preston police are now investigating the incident and are hoping to clamp down on the car accident compensation claim fraud that has been rising in the last few months.
