Car accident compensation has been awarded to a woman from Hampton, Greater London, who suffered serious personal injury when she was hit by a car while on a pedestrian crossing in 2006.
The successful car accident compensation claimant expressed her relief at the finally being awarded the settlement. "I have tried to tackle my injuries by working hard to recover and get back to the life I had before. But there have been times I have found this very difficult and a huge financial worry," she said.
"I am used to being financially and emotionally independent and the accident has turned my life upside down.
"Now that the case is settled, I can look forward to trying to get on with my life."
One crucial factor in establishing a case for settlement was CCTV footage of the car crash. The claimant's no win, no fee solicitor comments, "The unusual factor in this case is that the CCTV footage showed that the driver took no evasive action.
"The road on each side of the crossing is divided into two lanes, but the driver - who was travelling in the outer lane - failed to move into the inside lane, even though there was no other vehicle there.
"Perhaps more crucially, the footage showed that the driver failed to brake at all."
The car accident compensation deal was reached in out of court negotiations.
