Bailiffs have been called in after a Manchester nursery failed to pay personal injury compensation to a young girl who was hurt whilst in their care.
The girl, who was two years old at the time of the 2003 incident, was left with a serious hand injury when she became trapped in a door at the Radcliffe playschool. She was rushed to the nearby Booth Hall Children's Hospital and had to receive emergency treatment.
There were no long term effects of the hand injury but her parents felt let down by the nursery and decided to make a personal injury compensation claim on behalf of their daughter.
The case was heard at Salford County Court in March of this year and nursery bosses were subsequently ordered to pay damages of £1,579 in addition to £8,920 in legal fees.
More than seven months after the ruling, however, not a penny of the personal injury compensation has yet been paid and so bailiffs are now dealing with the issue.
