An award of £5,000 accident at work compensation has been made to a 61-year-old joiner who suffered a severe hand injury as a result of drilling through his palm.
The South Yorkshire man's employer, a prominent construction company, denies liability for the incident but has nonetheless agreed to settle the accident at work claim out-of-court.
The joiner was assisted in his personal injury claim by a prominent firm of Sheffield-based no win, no fee solicitors.
A no win, no fee specialist from the firm that represented the accident at work case commented, "[He] was in agony for weeks, and he still has persistent problems with his hand which mean he can't grip with full power. However, his accident could have been much worse."In this case, [He] was expecting the staircase to come in a different form and tried to do what his employers had asked of him."
The claimant had alleged that his employer failed to give him the correct tools for the job.
