The family of a man who was fatally injured in an accident at work may choose to make a compensation claim against the firm which employed him.
The incident occurred in Ballymena, near Belfast in Northern Ireland, when the victim was performing some maintenance on a robotic arm in a cigarette and tobacco manufacturing plant as part of a team.
As the machine was being worked on the robotic arm fell onto the man and caused him severe personal injury.
He was taken to hospital for medical treatment, but unfortunately died a day after the accident took place.
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigators are examining the circumstances behind the incident and the fatal injury.
The man's name has not yet been released but if the HSE's investigations find that the company is liable for the victim's death, his family could make an accident at work claim for their loss and suffering.
