Five people could be in a position to make personal injury compensation claims after a fairground ride accident in Suffolk.
The incident occurred during a bonfire display and saw a Hellraiser funfair ride collapse in a pile of twisted metal, leaving several people fearing for their lives.
One of those left trapped in the wreckage, a 14-year-old girl, told reporters, "My legs were scrunched up and the bar was against my chest. I did not know if I would get out alive."
Firefighters fought to free the trapped thrill seekers and five people were rushed to hospital with a range of personal injuries including whiplash, cuts and bruises and spinal injuries.
More than 10,000 people were attending the charity bonfire event and an eyewitness revealed what happened, saying: "I heard somebody scream and then everyone started going over to see what had happened."
The funfair was shut immediately after the accident and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are now examining the wreckage to find out exactly what happened.
It is not known if any of the injured fairgoers have yet consulted no win, no fee solicitors in order to make personal injury compensation claims against the funfair operators.
