Compensation for a traumatic brain injury

We have handled thousands of head injury claims, and understand that a traumatic brain injury can be a life changing event. Over a million people in the UK each year suffer head injuries, and only 15% of those who suffer a severe head injury return to work within 5 years.

We are here to help get justice and compensation for people who have sustained a traumatic brain injury in an accident that was not their fault.

The three injuries
There can be up to three injuries that result from the initial accident:

1. The first injury. This is the accident that causes the head injury and can be split into three types; closed, open and crush.

2. The second injury. This occurs if the brain is starved of oxygen, e.g. through an obstruction of the airway, and this exacerbates the first injury. It will occur minutes or hours after the first injury, depending upon the medical treatment available.

3. The third injury. This can occur days or weeks after the original accident, and is caused by bleeding, bruising, swelling or blood slots in the brain.
